The forest floor - a hidden network
Under the beech canopy the forest appears still, but it is constantly in conversation.
Fungi connect tree to tree through underground networks, sharing nutrients across generations. Moss gardens hold water like a sponge, regulating entire streams. Fallen logs become nurseries, not debris.
Many native birds feed close to the ground, relying on silence and patience rather than flight. When we walk gently, the forest continues behaving naturally — and that is when encounters happen.
You may hear the forest before you see it.
