Weather Cancellation Policy

Weather & Conditions

Our trips operate in a mountain environment where conditions can change quickly.
We make conservative decisions and assess forecasts before every departure.

A trip will not depart if conditions are likely to make the experience unsafe or uncomfortable, including:

  • Heavy rain or weather warnings

  • Strong winds

  • Electrical storm risk

  • Rapid river rise or flooding risk

  • Snow affecting track safety

If ECOTRAILS cancels a trip (before it starts) due to weather or safety conditions, guests may:

  • Reschedule to another available date, or

  • Receive a full refund

If Conditions Change During the Walk

During the walk, guides continuously monitor weather and group wellbeing. If conditions change, the route may be shortened or the group may return early.

This is considered a normal safety decision, not a failed trip.

Mountain environments are dynamic and as such adjusting plans is part of responsible guiding, and refunds are not provided when a trip is shortened for safety reasons after departure.
