The Scenic Route

A relaxed journey through the hidden stories, heritage, landscapes, and the character of Central Otago.

"Seeing the region through local eyes."

Travel at a Different Pace

The Scenic Route is designed for those wanting to experience Central Otago beyond the usual tourist trail. Wander slowly through historic towns like Arrowtown, pause for changing light and weather rolling across the mountains, and stop often to capture the landscapes at their best. Along the way, discover the stories that shaped the region — from gold rush history to the quiet character of the people who still call this place home. Explore local produce, artisan makers, and hidden corners that many travellers pass straight by, all at a relaxed and unhurried pace that feels more like travelling with a local than joining a tour.
